So I have REALLY done a bad job with keeping Hannah’s blog updated. My last post was after Hannah’s finalization and here we are 2 days shy of the 2 year anniversary of her finalization.
So much has happened over the past 2 years. Hannah had a great first birthday that was all pink and gold down to a princess crown and tutu. I was able to get some great photos of her at the park and at home for a cake smash session. Shortly after she turned 1 she got her tonsils and adenoids taken out due to her obstructive sleep apnea. Starting in January 2018 we were working on Hannah taking all of her formula by bottle to get her off of the feeding tube. She had to go 3 months without taking anything by feeding tube and her tube was taken out in June. Her stoma never closed up so they ended up closing it when she had another surgery for sleep apnea. In October 2018 Hannah got really sick and spent 2 week at Vanderbilt. She had a small bowel obstruction but they tried to see if it would go away on it’s own for a week and then they finally went in for surgery and it was determined that surgery was the only way to repair the blockage. I’ve got to tell you this Mama was not a happy camper that her baby had to suffer all of those days being so miserable when they should have done surgery days sooner. When they went in for surgery they repair an umbilical hernia that she had. Since then Hannah has been fairly happy and healthy. Now she is running all over the place and definitely keeping us on our toes. We have added swimming lessons to her already busy therapy schedule and she seems to be taking to the water very well.
I think that is a pretty big recap of everything in the grand scheme of things. I’m going to try to start posting regularly again. Follow us on instagram @nothingdownabouthannah for the most updated information on what Hannah is up to.
